Holly Port of Lotion Bar Cafe in Security-Widefield is hosting Handmade Hollyday Today.

Come by and check out great gift ideas from local producers of cookies, jams, candies, crafts, clothes and even fitness. And of course Lotion Bar Cafe has their full assortment of every type, shape, aroma, texture soap you can imagine.

They are also doing a food drive again and collecting pet supplies, blankets, treats ect for an animal rescue center.

Hell's Kitchen opens for business in Security-Widefield

Ruffrano's Hell's Kitchen Pizza had their soft opening today at their new location at 385 Main Street, across from the Security Shopping Center. Ruffrano's Hell's Kitchen features authentic NY style pizza and is a local favorite, with locations in Manitou Springs and at 1670 E. Cheyenne Blvd in Colorado Springs.

Area residents have been looking forward to the opening since the coming soon signs went up months ago. They're open 7 days a week from 11am to 11pm and offer free delivery within a 3 mile radius of the restaurant.

The Grand Opening will take place on Halloween, October 31st. In the meantime, you can follow them on Facebook and visit their website at

There will be a lot happening at the Shops at Widefield this Saturday, October 26. As usual, there will be plenty of food trucks from 10am on.

Big R will be having a sale as well as free candy for the kids all day from 10am to 5pm.

From 6pm to 9pm, several of the shops at the Shoppette (57 Widefield Blvd) and nearby will be hosting Trick or Treat with games, candy, samples and more.

Bring out the kids and the grandkids and/or just yourself (but at least come in costume)for some free, fun Halloween treats!

There was a great turnout last night for a small business meetup, sponsored by the Spanish Peaks Business Alliance.

The event took place at the Crafty Canary Brewery on 5th Street in Walsenburg. Individuals, business owners and representatives of non-profits got to learn more about each other as well as various agencies and organizations that may be of value to them. 

Business networking is a great way to get to know the people and resources in your neighborhood and beyond. It fosters communication, innovation and cooperation which is great for businesses and consumers alike.
