A man was shot dead today at the Seven Eleven at 5 Widefield Blvd.

According to reporters and people at the scene, law enforcement had the man in question under surveillance for at least the last several days. Earlier today, they were following him on Hwy 85 when he took evasive action, turning on to Fontaine and driving behind the Aamco and New Generations Homes buildings.

At that point law enforcement officers decided they needed to move in and blocked the vehicle as it pulled out along side the Seven Eleven. The driver rammed their vehicle. They opened fire, killing the man, whose name has not yet been released. Police believed the man was armed, but it is not yet clear if the suspect fired at officers.

UPDATE 12/5/2013 - NEW LOCATION

Larry Rothzeid has been building his own custom computers since the mid 1990's. In 2007 he took apart his first Mac. He was so impressed with the elegance and simplicity of them, he never went back to PC's. Now he works on and sells Macs and Apple products exclusively, at Mac Corner in Colorado Springs.

It was only a few years ago that if you had a problem with your Apple computer and wanted it fixed locally, there was about one place to go. You dropped it off, and if you were lucky, they could get around to looking at it in a few days, then a week or so later, it might be ready for pick up. These days, with the explosion of Apple products on the market, there are choices and competition. Mac Corner entered the market in late 2011. In fact they just celebrated their first anniversary at 4188 Center Park Drive (southwest corner of Fountain and Murray).

Owners Larry and Marlene Rothzeid are very aware that going without your computer (or iPhone or tablet), whether for business or personal use, can be very stressful. So, they strive to get you back up and running same day or next day. Sometimes they can even make the repairs while you wait. They keep commonly needed parts and software on hand and use state of the art testing equipment and software and even some diagnostics they fashioned themselves. "We want to fix the right problem the first time." Larry explained. Anyone can guess. Actually addressing the right issue saves time, money and ultimately is a better deal and experience for the customer.

In addition to Apple product repairs, Mac Corner also offers refurbished machines. Larry likes to say they carry Apple computers at PC prices. All the refurbished computers they sell come with a 90 day warranty and an optional 1 year extention.

You'll also find accessories for iPhones, iPads, iPods; including custom colored glass that can be installed while you wait. Yes, they have accessories for the iPhone 5.

The Rothzeids are excited about the success and growth they've experienced in 2012 and look forward to new challenges and further growth in 2013 and beyond. You'll find the Mac Corner at 4188 Center Park Drive in Colorado Springs. They're open from 10am to 6pm Monday through Friday and from 10am to 4pm on Saturdays.
