For a quarter of a century El Paso County’s award winning Fountain Creek Nature Center has connected tens of thousands of people to their natural and cultural resources and has inspired them to become stewards of our parks and our environment through public programs, school field trips, nature camps and special events. Help us celebrate our 25th anniversary by attending our free open house on Saturday, July 29 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Hear from dignitaries about this important gem in our community, enjoy cake, tour the nature center which was expanded in 2014, explore the Watershed Exhibit, catch some bugs, explore pond critters, visit Discovery Tables staffed by Junior Docents, get a glimpse of plans for the new cultural history exhibit titled, “Fountain Creek is the Pathway of History” and sign up for fall programs. Special water magic shows at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. by Bruce Black.
