Press Release (BlakelyCompany.com)

Summer is here and tourism is on the rise once again for Colorado, especially for families. Traveling with kids isn’t all sunshine and daisies; parents are left wishing there was an easy button when it comes to prepping, packing, and planning. Actually, there is an easy way to plan now: Pikespeakoutdoors.org hosts a free Family Adventure Guide, complete with fun-filled itineraries, downloadable activities, and a curated list of family-friendly places to explore in the Pikes Peak region of Colorado!

The purpose of the guide is to provide a fun and rewarding activity and adventure guide to engage kids and their parents in exploring the Pikes Peak region, discovering the “hidden gems” of lesser known places, while encouraging them to spend time together outdoors.

Inside the Family Adventure Guide, you’ll find an Adventure Club for the kids, scavenger hunts, hiking games and even several packing lists (especially if you’re bringing your dog). All summer long, Pikes Peak Outdoors will also be hosting social media contests for kids of all ages who choose to take the Pikes Peak Outdoors Adventure Club Pledge which incorporates Leave No Trace principles.

The Family Adventure Guide is found under the “Explore” tab on Pikespeakoutdoors.org (or just click here). The website provides helpful information to both locals and visitors who plan to enjoy outdoor recreational activities in the Pikes Peak region. The site is highly customizable with something for everyone: families looking for an easy hike, climbers looking for the best local rock, or someone wanting to rent a paddle board. Pikespeakoutdoors.org is the ultimate hub for all things outdoors providing local retailers, guides, classes, trails, streams, parks and much more right at your fingertips.

“The Family Adventure Guide provides the ‘easy button’ parents are looking for and the fun kids want to encourage them to play outside together as a family,” says Becky Leinweber, Executive Director of the Pikes Peak Outdoor Recreation Alliance, the organization who led the charge in developing the Pikes Peak Outdoors website and Family Adventure Guide.

If you’re a family and you want to explore and learn more about the Pikes Peak region and its great outdoors this summer, be sure to check out pikespeakoutdoors.org and the Family Adventure Guide today.
