ADOPT-A-BED GARDEN

First United Methodist Church Food Security Program

WHAT IS IT?  Adopt-a-bed is a volunteer activity for organizations, families, or individuals to ‘adopt’ a bed in the Community Garden located at the Church (1003 Santa Fe, Fountain).  The adoptive group is responsible for planting and maintaining the bed during the spring, summer and fall.  We have 20 beds to adopt!

WHAT DO YOU NEED? Seeds and/or plants and your energy, time and enthusiasm!  Soil in beds will be prepared for you.  Tools will be provided, and it’s okay if you want to bring your own tools.  Adopting a bed is a great way to promote your organization and become closer to the earth!

WHEN DO WE START? In the Springtime.  The date you plant will be determined by what you plan to grow!  You will work with our gardener, Burl Jones, who will guide you in preparing and caring for your bed.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? This is FREE!
