Mike and Jackie Coleman and co-owners of JEMS Inc, Stacy and Erik Hjelmstad are moving the Indoor Vendor Market from it’s current location at Palmer Park and Circle Drive to a new home at Widefield Square, at Fontaine and Widefield Blvd.  The new shop is half of what was once the local Safeway. When Safeway moved to Mesa Ridge, Family Dollar (later purchased by Dollar General) leased about half of the space they had vacated at Widefield Square. The remaining space was too much for a small business and not enough for a big box store. However, the 24,000 square feet is just right for Indoor Vendor Market, currently at around 15,000 square feet, to move and grow into.

It’ll be a few months before the move gets done. They have signed a five year lease with an option for five more, but they figure it may take until July 1 to get it ready to open. Indoor Vendor Market offers booth and display space rental for sellers of quality used or craft merchandise. Spaces start at around 40 square feet for $2.50/sq ft per month. One can also lease shelf or display space for as little as $25-$30/month. The market gets monthly rental fees plus 10% of sales. Vendors set their own pricing and agree to stock only clean, quality merchandise.

When JEMS first purchased the Indoor Vendor Market in 2016 it had been in business for a number of years. In fact, they had a space there for three years themselves. It was around 9,000 square feet of merchandise when they bought it. Over the next two years it has grown to over 65 vendors and 100+ shelves and displays rented.

Stacy and Jackie explained that in addition to the space they needed for continued growth and a good deal on the lease, they found Security-Widefield to be a strategic location. Many of the area north/south roadways converge here; I25, Academy Blvd, Hwy 115, Powers, Union/Hancock Expressway are all just a couple minutes away. Whether you’re coming from Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Monument, Woodland Park or Falcon, there’s an easy way to get here.

You can still shop and rent spaces at the Palmer Park and Circle location. The store is open 7 days a week from 10am to 6pm.

JEMS Inc. Also owns the Little London Consignment Market at 109 S. Sierra Madre in Colorado Springs. That model is a bit different in that the store sets the pricing and takes a bigger cut, but there’s no space rental fee. The store and seller agree on a time period, after which the seller has 7 days to come collect unsold items. Some parameters are negotiable on a case by case basis. Little London is open from 10am to 5pm Tuesday through Saturday.
