Western LLC, an airport development company, attended the Grand Opening of the Cutter Aviation Executive FBO Terminal at the Colorado Springs Airport on Thursday. Cutter Aviation hosted a catered reception to showcase its new world-class facility, which complements the location with its unique western-styled log construction. Western LLC aviation development team ran the project, with ground-breaking ceremonies held a year earlier, to expand Cutter’s role at its Colorado Springs site, including additional office space, a new fuel farm, and expanded hangar space. The recent addition provides a total of about 9,000 square feet of offices and 132,000 square feet of hangar space, on a total footprint of more than 16 acres. On the way is a new 60,000 square foot hangar, also being developed by Western LLC’s aviation development team. Western’s team managed the FBO Terminal project from the development of the original vision, conceptual design, full permitting and entitlement, construction, interior design, and interior decorating.
The Western LLC build, led by Brad Henderson, provides a strong visual emphasis for the geography of Colorado Springs, with a dramatic skyline of the Rocky Mountains dominating the view. The opening reception for Cutter Aviation -- a leading full-service aviation company, founded in 1928 -- was kicked off by a novel twist on the traditional ribbon cutting ceremony. Will Cutter, President and CEO, manned a chainsaw to cut through a symbolic log. Along with executives from Cutter Aviation and Western LLC, VIPs attending included John Suthers, the mayor of Colorado Springs, several city council members, Dan Steever, the publisher of the Colorado Springs Gazette, and key staff members from the Colorado Springs Municipal Airport. Western LLC’s executives and aviation development team members appreciate the values and professional standards of Cutter Aviation; the completion of the Cutter Executive FBO Executive Terminal and the other ongoing projects are clear evidence of the respect Western places on this relationship.
