Katie Widau has been a licensed insurance agent for over 15 years. She and her husband Steve hail from Indiana, where Katie had worked with companies like Allstate and Progressive as an independent agent.
Steve had been stationed at Fort Carson back in the day and the Widaus have vacationed here several times over they years. They’d always talked about moving here, so when opportunity knocked this past year, they answered.
They got their house sold in Indiana and Katie began putting out feelers in the Springs area. They made their new home in Fountain, and Katie was recruited by Farmers Insurance. She liked what the company had to offer as well as the way they do business, so the next step was to find a good location.
While Farmers has a number of offices on the north end of the Springs, they noted there was nothing this far south. So when they suggested setting up shop in Widefield Square shopping center, Farmers agreed that it was a great selection.
The Widau Agency will be hosting a Grand Opening Saturday, March 19, from 8am to noon. Everyone is invited. A ribbon cutting ceremony courtesy of the Fountain Valley Chamber of Commerce will take place at 10am and there will be free child ID kits available.
