10 til 2 offers free volunteer job postings

Press Release

10 til 2 – The Part-Time Placement Service has launched its new community initiative, Time to Give Back, in which Colorado charities and non-profits can now post their volunteer positions on the 10 til 2 website free of charge. With average monthly page views of approximately 25 thousand, posting volunteer positions on 10til2.com can enhance local non-profit organizations’ exposure and vastly increase their ability to attract the talent they need for their charitable programs.

“I love the idea!” said Polly Dawkins of the Davis Phinney Foundation, based in Boulder. “What a wonderful resource for the community.”

10 til 2 Founders, Jodi Olin and Jill Ater, have been actively involved in the community for years and felt that their company could be a more active liaison to support non-profits.
“We know so many great organizations out there are in need of volunteers” said Ater. “And we constantly hear from our network of 50 thousand job seekers that they would love to volunteer in the community. Why not play matchmaker and leverage what 10 til 2 does best to support these causes?”

Olin continues, “As a business, we felt strongly that we wanted to do something more for the community. We are a staffing company, so naturally our Time to Give Back program makes perfect sense.”

Non-profits and charitable organizations from the Denver Metro, Colorado Springs and Northern Colorado are urged to contact 10 til 2 at 303.909.3868 if they are interested in having their volunteer positions posted on 10til2.com or to learn more about Time to Give Back.

Plato’s Closet North celebrates 1st anniversary

Press Release (MoxieGirl PR)

Beginning on Monday, April 8, Plato’s Closet North will kick off a week-long first anniversary celebration aimed at thanking their loyal customers. The events will also highlight the numerous local and international nonprofits and organizations that the store has partnered with throughout the year. Plato’s Closet North owner Sharon Hoffstetter attributes the teen resale store’s success to a very intentional approach to doing business.

“From the outset, we’ve made it our mission to achieve four objectives,” she said. “To offer only the best quality of gently used, resale clothing and accessories; to take care of and actively engage our customers with personalized attention; to continuously serve and support our community through partnerships with nonprofits and service organizations; and to honor our commitment to our staff, helping them to grow professionally and achieve their life goals.”

Organizations include Rachael’s Ribbons of Hope, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, Bringing Back Hope, Teens with Promise, the Pikes Peak Library District, Colorado Springs Together and Urban Peak, to name only a few. “We’ve been working with Plato’s Closet North since they opened, and it’s been a great partnership,” said Robin Coen, Executive Director of Teens with Promise. “They are truly committed to moving this community forward on behalf of our local teens.”

Because of her family’s former service in the military, Hoffstetter’s store also actively honors local troops and their families with Military Mondays and by partnering with TroopSwap Colorado Springs. “This is the right business model for us, and it proves that Colorado Springs companies can ‘do good while doing well’,” said Hoffstetter. “Without that commitment to community, we’d be just another retailer.”

Since Plato’s Closet North opened its doors in April 2012, the store has built an enthusiastic following and become a popular destination for affordable, up-to-date fashion for teens and the 20-something crowd. To celebrate a great first year of business, Hoffstetter and her staff cordially invite everyone to come out and help them commemorate this milestone. Festivities begin on Monday, April 8, and continue through the week, and will include numerous prizes, contests and giveaways. It will culminate with a first anniversary bash at the store on Saturday, April 13.

Fountain Arts Center joins More Than Just Great Dancing International

Press Release

Fountain Arts Center has been accepted into the More Than Just Great Dancing international affiliation program, aligning the studio with a higher standard of dance instruction and management principles.

More Than Just Great Dancing is a community of dance studio owners committed to providing more than excellent dance instruction.  Founded by Misty Lown, owner of Misty’s Dance Unlimited, the More Than Just Great Dancing license is based on the same principles Lown used to grow her own La Crosse, Wis., studio that today serves more than 700 dance students and has given out more than $135,000 in scholarships.

The approach places the customer at the center of the dance studio world and equips licensed studios to transform staff teaching and leadership skills, provide quality programs and curricula, employ best management practices and have a positive impact on their communities.

As the only studio in the area to receive the license, Fountain Arts Center’s owner, Rachel Brannen, joins other industry leaders in web seminars and teleconferencing discussions as well as connects with other studio owners to share ideas, drive industry innovations, and address challenges.

Fountain Arts Center was founded in 2004 in Fountain, CO and today provides ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap, music, theater and karate instruction to more than 150 students ranging from 2.5-adult. Fountain Arts Center has 3 dance performance troupes that perform free of charge at community events such as the Library Summer Reading Program Party and the Fountain Labor Day Festival.

Fountain Arts Center is currently enrolling for our Summer classes and Summer Camps. Those interested in what Fountain Arts Center has to offer, can view the Summer schedule at www.FountainArtsCenter.com or call the studio at 719-205-7909 for more information.

New Website offers detailed information on area hiking trails

Press Release

www.RockyMountainHikingTrails.com is a new website that gives hikers interested in Rocky Mountain National Park a robust source of trail information at their fingertips.

www.RockyMountainHikingTrails.com offers detailed information on more than 70 hikes, including trail descriptions, key features, pictures, maps, elevation profiles and more. Additionally, the site is organized to make it easier for hikers to compare and choose trails that best suit their hiking preferences. Before the launch of RockyMountainHikingTrails.com, hikers had difficulty finding detailed web-based trail information for Rocky Mountain National Park. Most existing sites list only a handful of the most popular trails, and provide only limited information without regard to individual hikers’ skill level or preferences.

With this new website, hikers can choose trails based on either location within the park, hiking difficulty, key features, or they can simply look at an alphabetical listing. RockyMountainHikingTrails.com uses a mathematical formula to rate trail difficulty which gives hikers a comparable reference point between trails. This information will benefit any day hiker; including people looking for a short stroll to a nearby waterfall, to the long distance hiker looking to climb Hallett Peak, as well as hikes of varying lengths and difficulty in-between.

RockyMountainHikingTrails.com  is the sister site to www.HikinginGlacier.com, on Glacier National Park in Montana, and www.HikingintheSmokys.com, the number one hiking website for the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee.
