Buddy Whittington began playing guitar at an early age, being inspired by his sister's records of The Beatles, Rolling Stones and, in particular, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton. At the age of 14 he was already a part of the Dallas/Fort Worth music scene and playing regularly in the clubs along Jacksboro Highway.

During the early 80's, he formed and sang with his own band "The Sidemen". In 1991 they opened for John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers. When Mayall’s guitarist Coco Montoya left the Bluesbreakers in 1993, Mayall remembered the hot guitarist from Texas and gave Buddy a call to take over the reins as lead guitarist. Buddy appeared on countless Mayall shows and recordings worldwide for the 15 years between 1993 and 2008, at which time the existing Bluesbreakers were reformed by Mayall.

Since striking out on his own, Buddy released his self-titled solo CD at the beginning of 2009, and his second CD, Six String Svengali in 2011. The Texas bluesman has already completed three European tours, playing to packed blues clubs night after night.

Backing up Buddy for this show will be The Atomic Fireballs, featuring saxophonist Carlos Crull.

“This will be the fourth time we have brought Buddy Whittington into the area accompanied by the Atomic Fireballs” explains Amy Whitesell of A Music Company Inc., promoter of the show. “Each show turns into a real party with Buddy because of his versatility. He’s a master guitarist and delves into not only the blues, but rock and roll and even a little country. He’s truly a crowd pleaser.”

General admission tickets are $18 in advance and $23 the day of show. A VIP ticket is available for $38 in advance and $43 day of show. Multi-Day Triathlon Camp to be Held in Colorado Springs

Vanguard Endurance, high performance endurance coaching group, is holding a multi-day triathlon camp in Colorado Springs, June 28 – 30, 2013

Colorado Springs, CO-  Vanguard Endurance, a high performance triathlon coaching group based in Colorado Springs, is holding a multi-day triathlon camp June 28 – June 30.  Certified elite and pro triathlon coaches will watch athlete’s form, correct inefficiencies, and help make significant improvements in athlete performance.  The purpose of this camp is to prepare athletes for the upcoming racing season.  This camp will cater to both athletes as well as coaches through a mix of training sessions, educational presentations and hands on, one-on-one support.  All swim, bike, and run sessions will be led by the Vanguard Endurance team of world-class coaches and support staff.

To ensure that athletes get the most out of this camp, attendees will have unlimited access to all coaches and staff, allowing them the opportunity to discuss individual training and goals with coaching and racing experts.  The Triathlon Camp offers a robust schedule, featuring multiple group rides, run and swim sessions, as well as running technique sessions, and optional swimming and running video analysis.
