Rapidly growing retailer comes to Colorado Springs
Press Release (Red Energy PR)
One of the fastest-growing small companies in the nation, rue21, has chosen The Citadel shopping center in Colorado Springs for its latest expansion. The grand opening took place Thursday, August 1, on the mid-level of The Citadel, 750 Citadel Drive East.
Rue21 specializes in apparel for guys and gals who are looking for “fresh, fun” apparel and accessories. Their brands include Carbon Elements, Tarea, Etc!, and rue beaute! According to the website, “rue” is French for “street,” while the number 21 “embodies the age that everyone wants to be.”
In addition, the company promotes social responsibility by careful sourcing of materials, following sustainability guidelines for recycling and energy use, and by partnering with philanthropic organizations.
“Of course we’re thrilled that rue21 chose The Citadel for its first Colorado Springs location. And our shoppers are excited about this latest addition to our center,” said Jill Lais, Marketing Director for The Citadel.
Forbes magazine named rue21 number nine on its list of America’s Best Small Companies, listing earnings per share growth at 38 percent and return on equity at 55 percent. For the past several years, the national specialty apparel chain has added nearly 100 stores annually, skyrocketing from 250 stores to more than 900 stores. Headquartered in Pennsylvania, the company went public in November 2009 and trades on NASDAQ (symbol - RUE).
